Minimum Wage: Two years after, 10 states yet to comply

IT has been revealed that two years after the adoption of the stipulated N30, 000 minimum wage, some states have failed to implement it.

This was revealed by Mr Tommy Okon, the President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) on Monday, 13th of June, 2021 while speaking with newsmen.

According to him, Benue, Anambra, Bauchi, Imo, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Zamfara States are yet to adopt the minimum wage. States like Anambra and Taraba have completed discussions, but are yet to begin implementation.

Okon also added that Bauchi, Benue, Kebbi, Kogi, Nasarawa, Kano, and Zamfara States are already in negotiation talks, but Imo State is yet to begin discussions. 

He also called for a further review of salary structures. He urged the government to shun the notion of salary payment negotiations.
