Self-help Projects: Gemade Estate receives N500,000 from Lagos govt. as one of the best 10 CDAs

Gemade Community Development Association in Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has received the cash prize of N500,000 as one of the Best 10 Community Development Association (CDAs) from the Lagos State Government, for their self-help projects within the community.

The CDA received the cheque at the Lagos State 2020 Community Day Celebration, themed:” Promise Made, Promise Kept, More To Come”, organised by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, which held recently at the Police Training College, Ikeja.

According to the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed: ”For the annual Community Day Celebration, it has become a tradition for our ministry to encourage and boost the morale of CDAs to do more in their developmental projects by rewarding deserving communities for the self-help projects they embark upon with branded new buses as star prizes for the first three communities, and consolation prizes for 10 other CDAs.”

Subsequently, the CDA presented the cheque to the LCDA boss, Honourable Princess Olabisi Adebajo, in appreciation for her utmost support to the community.

While receiving the cheque, Adebajo charged the CDC to keep up the good work in their respective communities as support to the local council in developments.

She also used the opportunity to appreciate and urge the Gemade CDA to keep up the spirit and be energised for more of the recognitions.
