Mosan-Okunola Mayor welcomes residents to 2022, promises to fulfil campaign promises.

THE Mosan-Okunola LCDA council boss, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo, has welcomed the residents of the council area to the year 2022 with a promise to fulfil all campaign promises.

While addressing the residents of the LCDA on Saturday, January 1, 2022, Hon. Adebajo said; "I thank God for His mercies that saw us all through year 2021, it was no doubt an interesting and productive year, but also a tasking and engaging year in all spheres, a landmark and reference year in which the constituents of Mosan-Okunola LCDA renewed my mandate by four more years.

"This would not have been possible without the firm supports of leaders, officers, and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), all other stakeholders, groups in the council, and teeming residents, who appreciated all that we did in our first term."

She also went ahead to appreciate the council for their support towards her administration.

"I must also thank the Mosan-Okunola LCDA Management Team led by Mr (Prince) Adeeso Adedoyin and the members of staff for putting their very best into ensuring a smooth and seamless running of the secretariat and outpost office units. Working with you is a pleasant and worthwhile experience. Let’s do it again this year 2022 please," she reiterated.

She also mentioned that, in the year 2022, all pending rehabilitation works in the LCDA will be completed with the commencement of others.

"The ongoing road reconstructions and rehabilitation that includes 411 Road, Gowon Estate (Completed); AB Street off Kokumo Road, Federal Estate (Completed); Wesley Street, Abesan (80%); Ladega Street, Akinogun (60%); Mufutau Adeyemi Street (45%); and the new administrative block complex will all be prioritized for completion on scheduled dates.

"In the coming year, we intend to start the rehabilitation of 11 Road beside Zenith Bank to RCCG Dominion Cathedral Roundabout; Gowon Estate, 31 Road down to Okunola Junction, Gowon Estate; drilling of boreholes in the five wards of the LCDA; rehabilitation of Abesan Estate Primary School; Kokumo Health Centre; Akinyele Health Centre; among others," Hon. Adebajo affirmed.

The council boss also stated her administration's achievement in the healthcare sector for 2021 with the promise to do more in 2022.

"In 2021, our administration operationalized the Lagos State Health Insurance platform, tagged Ilera Eko in Rauf Aregbesola PHC in August, where all council staff members and residents can now receive free health services via their health insurance subscriptions; subscribers now have their universal health insurance cards, access to free drugs, lab tests, and functional ambulance for emergency services.

"In the outgone year, we also collaborated with BOSKOH International, for the provision of free glasses, free dental care, free diabetes and hypertension screening for all Mosan-Okunola LCDA residents in July 2021. We also had the senior citizens and widows medical outreach, featuring hypertension and diabetes screening program, in October 2021.

"We also rejuvenated the abandoned Kokumo PHC borehole water system where the scaffolding and the pumping machine were repaired. We also installed and repaired the water pipes as well as the two water tanks in the facility. Our administration also installed a new water pumping machine at the Rauf Aregbesola PHC, and we also repaired the old one for stand-by purposes in May 2021.

"All of these were done to put the residents on the good stead to fight off the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic," she stated.

She ended her address by calling on all stakeholders in the council area to continue to support her administration in order for residents of Mosan-Okunola LCDA to continuously enjoy the dividends of democracy.
