Indiscriminate burning of refuse causes fire at Mosan-Okunola LCDA

A fire incident caused by the indiscriminate burning of refuse occurred at the NNPC right-of-way at the Cacatin side of Mosan-Okunola LCDA on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

An online report signed by the Alimosho Divisional Officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CSC Adio Adewunmi Adio, reads; “On Thursday, March 10, 2022, at around 14:30hrs, a call was put across to our Mosan-Okunola office acquainting us of a fire outbreak on NNPC right-of-way at Cacatin side of Mosan-Okunola LCDA which could possibly be the aftermath of a vandalisation. 847

“The office swiftly swung to action and moved to the incident scene for necessary action. On getting there, it was gathered it was not anything close to vandalism.

“Information gathered revealed that the fire outbreak was as a result of indiscriminate burning of refuse by an unknown person on the bushy right-of-way which escalated beyond his control.848

“The timely intervention of our officers (NSCDC), Nigerian Police Force (NPF), and the Lagos State Fire Service averted what could have been a major disaster in the community.”

There was no recorded casualty from the incident.849
