Hon. Adebajo urged parents and guardians to continue to raise their children in and with the fear of God. She said: "A child that is trained in the way he or she should go will not depart from such training; it is a promise of God to parents, hence, we must not be absentee fathers, mothers or guardians, but hands on."

She further disclosed that pupils of both public and private schools in her council have turned the Council Secretariat to their preferred out-of-classroom tour destination and she deeply enjoys the warmth of these priceless ones on these visits.

"Today's celebration is a call to prioritise the future by prioritising the upbringing of every Nigerian child. Our well trained priceless children will give us the priceless future we desire, and as leaders, parents and guardians, we must work together to deliver this future by making sacrifices that will make these children leaders and experts in various fields of human endeavours.

"Our administration would continue to build on our various programmes for our children top of which are basic education, immunization, infant and maternal healthcare provision, breastfeeding campaigns, deworming exercises, free exercise books' distribution, free school bags, free GCE forms, support for orphanages, skill empowerment programmes, among others."

Hon. Adebajo also decried the growing use of drugs and other anti-social behaviours among children. She submitted that her administration will not spare the rod to stem this ugly tide.
