THE Executive Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo has called on the residents of the council area to cultivate the habit of tree planting in commemoration of the year 2022 Tree Planting Day held at the African Church Primary Schoo, Akinogun on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
While speaking at the event themed ‘In Harmony with Nature’, the council boss, who was represented by the Executive Vice-chairman, Hon. Dayo Osinowo affirmed that this year’s tree planting exercise is to enhance the country’s carbon sink and immense contributors to human life.
Hon. Dayo while reading the speech, reiterated the vital use and benefits of tree planting in our communities which include, the promotion of a healthy and serene environment, reduction of environmental pollution, protection against flooding, and beautification of our communities, among other important benefits.
The event was also witnessed by the Council-Manager, Mr Olaniran Muniru Ayodeji; Leader of the Legislative arm, Hon. Olasunkanmi Adefioye; other legislative members; Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers, CDAs members; and community leaders.
