EFCC arrests 13 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested 13 suspected internet fraudsters around the Alagbado axis of Lagos State.


The suspects are Olowosoke Temidire, Oladoyin Tolulope, Adeyemi Toyese Jubril, Agbeluyi Olusola, Olayinka Azeez, Abdullahi Olalekan, Gbenga Ade, Nwokeso Innocent, Obodoukwu Godstime, Mba Emmanuel, Oluwadare Ibisiola, Damilola Ogunsemire and Christopher Ubong.

According to the Commission, the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Plot 109 Obas Street off AIT Estate, Lagos State, and some other areas within the axis, following credible intelligence received from concerned members of the public on their criminal activities.

Also, analyses of their phones and laptops revealed that the suspects are members of an Organized Cyber Criminal Syndicate Network (OCCSN), defrauding unsuspecting victims of millions of Naira, the commission claimed.

The commission also said that items suspected to be charms were found on one of the suspects, who confessed to using charms to defraud his victims and shutting their mouths from exposing him.

Other items recovered from the suspects include six exotic vehicles, mobile devices and laptops.

The commission added that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
