Man in court over alleged motorcycle theft

A 30-year-old man, Akeem Oyewole, has been arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N220,000 at Atan Nla Road, Baruwa Ipaja,Lagos.

 A 30-year-old man, Akeem Oyewole, has been arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N220,000 at Atan Nla Road, Baruwa Ipaja,Lagos.

The defendant was charged on a two-count charge of stealing and breach of the peace.

According to the prosecutor, Oyewole committed the offences on January 19, at 9.00 p.m.

He said the defendant stole a Boxer motorcycle belonging to Mr Mukalia Rokibu and conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by hitting the complainant with a wood on his neck.

He said the offences contravened Sections 168 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

Oyewole, however, denied committing such offences.

Magistrate Ogunkanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

He subsequently adjourned the case to April 15 for further hearing.
