Consequent upon the prevailing upheavals in south-west Nigeria, the leader of the Assembly of Sarkis and Chairman, Chieftaincy Council of Arewa Community in Alimosho local government, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, has charged the Arewa communities across Lagos State and by extension the southwestern region to employ caution, even as actions and inactions of some persons seem to fray nerves.

Emphasising the value of caution, the Sarki overall drew the attention of the Arewas to the teachings of Islam that amplifies guarding against anarchy, adding that anarchy does not beget progress but abets destruction in no small measure.

"The current frenzy playing out is an existential hazard that, if not handled with utmost caution, will shatter our peace and leave much to be desired. Thus my candid call to our people not to join aberrant persons stoking the embers of anarchy; we should not match a wrong with a wrong and rather allow the laws of the land to take full course.

"The value of our peace and unity is inestimable and people with sinister motives must not be allowed to play on our collective intelligence as Nigerians. In my view, there is more to the current situation than meets the eye and I just hope that politics has not been pushed beyond the sanctity of human lives by some persons.

"While I call on the appropriate authorities to set up the machinery for a quick resolution of the current impasse, I similarly beseech our communities across the south western region to trust in the sincerity and readiness of government to nip the ugly incident in the bud as quickly as possible," he said.
