Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA flag-off measles vaccination campaign, Chairman seek residents cooperation

She added that the council offers free medical healthcare services to children, such as routine Oral Polio Vaccine with Vitamin A and adequate treatment for pregnant and nursing mothers in all the standardized  Primary Health Centres.

THE Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. (Mrs) Bola Shobowale on Monday, June 20, 2022, sensitized the residents of the council area on measles vaccination and persuaded all residents to support her administration’s initiative towards the provision of better healthcare service through the prevention of deadly diseases amongst the children.

According to reports reaching Alimoshotoday, the council boss informed parents at the flag-off ceremony held at the Igbogila Primary Health Centre, Ipaja.

She said that the vaccination campaign is scheduled to run from Friday, June 17, 2022, till Monday, July 4, 2022, across all 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos State. The main objective of this exercise is to immunize all eligible children between ages 0 months to 59 months,

Shobowale emphasized that measles is a very infectious disease caused by a virus and affects mostly children; it can reduce a child's immunity to fight other diseases, resulting in frequent illness, and blindness and leading to death in infancy.

She added that the council offers free medical healthcare services to children, such as routine Oral Polio Vaccine with Vitamin A and adequate treatment for pregnant and nursing mothers in all the standardized  Primary Health Centres. 

Present at the event are; Vice-Chairman, Hon Ladi Oluwaloni, SLG, Prince Rotimi Akinniyi, Dr MEYA, Medical officer of Health (MOH), Supervisor for health, Hon. Olusola Dada, other supervisors, SAs, and management staff.
