Man arraigned for sneaking into woman's house to seduce her in Ikotun

A 34-year-old randy man, Madu Damian, has landed in trouble after he attempted to sneak into a woman’s apartment to seduce her, and he was mistaken for a thief. 

According to media reports, the woman,  Nkechi Okafor, raised an alarm and alleged that Damian came to her apartment and stole her necklace worth N500,000.

The incident happened at Manisha Adegbola Street, Arida area of Ikotun, in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA, where the complainant resides.

During interrogation at the Ikotun Police Station, Damian reportedly told the Police that he was not a thief and that he only asked her to allow him to enter her apartment but she declined.

The Police then asked him if he was a tenant in the house, but he said that he only knew the complainant and wanted to enter her room for an undisclosed purpose.

The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the court to give a date for a hearing to enable the Police to prove that he committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Dosumu, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of a means of livelihood and verified addresses.

The matter was adjourned till May 24 for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
