TO meet the community's cooking-energy needs, the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), on Friday, June 10, 2022, distributed cooking gas cylinders with burners to traders, both men and women, in the Igando-Ikotun community as part of its plans to promote clean and safe cooking.
While speaking during the event, the Vice-Chairman of the council area, Hon. Mojisola Ayinke Badmus reiterated that the overall objective of the project is to advocate, sensitise, and create awareness on the use and benefits of alternate fuel wood/clean cookstoves for women to improve their health and livelihoods of women.
She also mentioned that the Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde intends to work with critical stakeholders and other spirited organizations on the implementation strategy which will be a broad framework encompassing all forms of clean cooking and safety measures across the community.
Mojisola then emphasized that clean cooking will save lives as well as ensure healthy living and provide a better quality of life by reducing exposure to air pollution.
