INITIAL report gathered indicated that the pastor was to be buried in his hometown of Arigidi-Akoko, Ondo state, as demanded by the traditional ruler of the town.
It was later revealed by sources close to the family that the late Pastor will be buried in his church premises in Ikotun for 'spiritual purposes'. “Since they said the reason was spiritual, the family agreed with them,” a church source said.
Meanwhile, the church elders also had a meeting where they selected Evelyn, the late Pastor's wife, as his successor as there was no succession plan for the church.
“Someone must take charge immediately and give spiritual direction on the mode of service continuity. So much spiritual and financial effort went into building SCOAN and it cannot just waste away. None of the pastors were trained to succeed him. I would have known if any exists. For now, the wife has taken charge.’’ a top church aide said.
Evelyn confirmed the burial arrangements and her appointment as the new church leader when she hosted the Lagos State Governor.
