Igando-Ikotun council boss commissions Ikotun PHC, Olukotun School, empowers constituents

The commissioning of the Ikotun PHC

THE Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, commissioned the newly renovated Ikotun PHC and the reconstructed Olukotun Nursery and Primary School.

In line with the administration’s goal of ensuring good, affordable, and accessible health care for the people of the Igando-Ikotun community, the council boss reiterated that the newly commissioned centre will run for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

In his speech during the commissioning, the chairman stated that the centre is committed to providing qualitative care to everyone in the community irrespective of their social class and status.

The newly renovated PHC has been upgraded with a laboratory that will be equipped with a 3D medical ultra scan machine; the centre will also provide free prenatal care, free delivery, and free scan for every pregnant woman living in the vicinity.

The council mayor also commissioned the Olukotun Nursery and Primary School with newly refurbished 12 classrooms and six toilets. These amenities are designed to improve the standard of education in the community.

Similarly, Comrade Akinsanya has donated walking sticks and bags of rice to persons living with disabilities in the community.

He went further to empower some people with cash grants across the seven Wards; he explained that the empowerment programme was part of his efforts to alleviate poverty in the LCDA. 

The council boss urged the beneficiaries to use the money effectively to improve their businesses.
