The Women of Inestimable Values (WIVs) Foundation has distributed food items to the less privileged in Egan community of Igando, Lagos State.

The President of the Foundation, Mrs Blessing Okojie-Eze, said supporting the less privileged especially during festive periods would strengthen peace and harmony in the community.

Okojie-Eze said that providing for the less privileged would give them a sense of belonging and promote peace and unity.

According to her, the foundation organised the outreach to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic and #EndSARS protests especially on the less privileged.

“All hands are not equal; it is reasonable to identify with one another no matter how little.

“The greatest joy of this exercise is seeing the beneficiaries happy as they  get their packs; the items will serve them for a period,” she said.

Mrs Latifat Ogunlana, who benefitted from the outreach, described it as a "wonderful demonstration of love."

She said that what she got would sustain her family beyond the festive period.

She applauded WIVs for the gesture and prayed that it would be regular.

“I am very happy and grateful to WIVs for coming to this place to distribute food items to people.

“They came with rice, vegetable oil, Indomie products, condiments and other items. God bless the organisation,” she said.

Mrs Aminat Olohunlana, a volunteer for the outreach, also said the exercise brought excitement to the community as people were impressed with the food items distributed.

Olohunlana said that she was delighted to be part of the distribution.

“I volunteered to be part of the sharing because what the foundation is doing is very good.

“The people of Egan are very happy,  they are now sure of food for this festive season and beyond,” she added.
