Henry, who has been living in Spain for 10 years, reportedly swallowed the wraps of cocaine in a hotel in the Igando area of Lagos before his attempt to leave Nigeria.

A statement issued by the Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, said Okonkwo was about boarding a Turkish Airline flight when he was apprehended and taken into custody by the NDLEA operatives at the Lagos Airport on Easter Monday.

During his time under watch, the suspect allegedly excreted 113 wraps of cocaine estimated to have a street value of N423 million.

The NDLEA operatives at the airport also arrested another traveller who was trying to export 2.8 kilogrammes of skunk to Dubai, United Arab emirates.

The illicit substance was concealed inside crayfish, bitter leaves, and lemons packaged in a sack.

Meanwhile, the chairman/chief executive officer of NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) commended officers and men of the MMIA command of the agency for not allowing criminal elements to take advantage of the Easter holidays to further their illicit trade, and dent Nigeria's image abroad.

“We all must stay committed to the ongoing offensive action at the airports, seaports, land borders, on the streets of Nigerian cities and across the various drug joints and even in the forests where some are hiding to cultivate and process cannabis Sativa. We must disrupt their illicit trade and dismantle their cartels,” Marwa said.
