TALENTED Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has listed his top five greatest Afrobeats songs of all time.
The rapper, on a recent episode of the ‘Lagos’ podcast, named his top Afrobeats songs, which feature songs from the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s released by top artists.
Tuface Idibia's hit song “Africa Queen” is on the list, as well as a more recent Burna Boy's “Ye” and Wizkid's “Ojuelegba”
“My list of top 5 greatest Afrobeats songs of all time is very simple; ‘African Queen’ by 2Face, Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’, Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’, Davido’s ‘If’, and ‘Safe’ by M.I,” Blaqbonez said
Other top songs and artists who have opened many doors for the genre on the global stage were conspicuously missing from Blaqbonez’s list, which could include P-Square songs, Rema's “Calm Down” and the legendary Fela Kuti.
