VIDEO: #SARSMUSTEND protesters storm Egbeda-Akowonjo

In lieu of the ongoing #SARSMUSTEND protest, another faction of Alimosho youths were sighted today, Tuesday, October 13 on Egbeda-Akowonjo Road.

Recall that in response to the three-day protests that held last week from October 7-9, 2020, the Inspector General of Police had announced that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force had been dissolved.

In response to the IGP's statement, the protesters also came up with five demands: immediate release of all arrested protesters, justice for all deceased victims of police brutality and appropriate compensation for their families, setting up of an independent body to oversee the investigation and protection of all reports of police misconduct (100 days), psychological evaluation and retraining of disbanded officers before redeployment, and salary increase of police officers.

These peaceful protesters on Egbeda-Akowonjo Road were on the road voicing out their requests and displaying their demands.

This hindered vehicular movement, as Akowonjo Road experienced a choking gridlock during the peaceful protest.
