Lagos State Government in conjunction with the Alimosho Local Government Chairman, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, have resolved to eradicate seasonal flooding on Jimoh Akinremi Street and its environs.
The stakeholders meeting held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Victoria Street signalled the kick-off of collector drainage construction from Jimoh Akinremi through Victoria down to Lawal Street.
Hon. Sulaimon appreciated the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for making the project a reality after 50 years of flooding on Jimoh Akinremi Street.
Engr. Bunmi Lofinmakin, the contractor in charge assured residents of a thorough job. He further appealed to residents to desist from using the storm collector as waste collector.
The 1,200 meters drainage will be constructed on one side of the road and, when completed, will eradicate the problem of flooding on Jimoh Akinremi and its environs.
