Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has congratulated the re-elected Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the newly elected House of Assembly member for Alimosho Constituency 01, Hon. Lukman Orelope for their success at the just concluded elections.

It should be recalled that in separate pronouncements by the INEC returning officers in Alimosho State Constituency 01 (Abati/Aregbesola Primary School) and the State Returning Officer (Yaba INEC office), the duo were declared elected after fulfilling all the requirements by the law and scoring the highest number of votes in the polls.

According to the pronouncement, Hon. Lukman Orelope of the APC finished with 50,136 votes to edge his closest contender from the Labour Party who finished with 21,938 votes.

In the Lagos Governorship election, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of APC finished with 762,134 votes to edge his closest rival from Labour Party who finished with 312,329, leaving a difference of over 400,000 votes.

In a short celebration at the collation centre in Abati/Aregbesola Primary school, the Executive Chairman expressed joy at the result, adding that it is the efforts of the party faithful who stood their ground to ensure that due process was followed and those who worked very hard to ensure that eligible voters come out en masse to vote for the candidates.

He added that both the Governor and the new Alimosho 01 HoA member genuinely love their people and are willing to do their best for the development of society.

He then urged the residents of the Alimosho Constituency 01  and the entire state to cooperate with the duo of Gov Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Hon. Lukman Orelope to ensure that they deliver the dividends of democracy.
