THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has had a progressive deliberation with the youth in the LGA on their needs and how they can be delivered.
Information reaching AlimoshoToday affirms that this took place at the youth stakeholders meeting held yesterday, Monday, July 29, 2024, at Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo.
The youth in attendance expressed their concerns over the economic situation of the country and how it has adversely affected them. According to the youth representatives who spoke, despite the hardship being experienced, members of the Lagos State taskforce harassment didn't reduce. Different days with different episodes of their careless activities. 
Some of their grievances include the task force forcefully seizing bikes from the riders even on the street, and packing petty trader's goods even when they are not on the road.
Road construction at Bameke, Iyana-Ipaja old road and suburb, as well as a good drainage system at Ajisebiarameka, were among some of the demands made by the youth in addition to a comprehensive empowerment that will empower the youth.
The council Boss expressed his satisfaction towards the reaction of the youth and promised to ensure a speedy attention towards all the demands as resources come in.
Thereafter, a three-man committee was inaugurated at the venue based on the direct suggestion of the participants at the meeting. This Committee is expected to design a comprehensive empowerment/business expansion plan, which the Local Government will use to relate with the youth moving forward.
The committee will meet every first and third Wednesday from August 2024 and, therefore, requested that any youth who has a business proposal or empowerment idea should submit it to the committee at their next meeting.
The Council Chairman affirmed that the welfare of the youth, as well as their development, is key to the progress of the country and as a result, he will be unrelenting in ensuring youth empowerment.
