PHOTOS: Egbe-Idimu slaughter house dislodged, spoils donated to orphanage

THE re-inaugurated Monitoring, Enforcement and Compliance Team yesterday dislodged another illegal slaughterhouse, Igbeyinadun Abbatoir on Onifade Street in the Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

THE re-inaugurated Monitoring, Enforcement and Compliance Team yesterday dislodged another illegal slaughterhouse, Igbeyinadun Abbatoir on Onifade Street in the Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in furtherance of the reforms in the red meat value chain.

The Lagos State Government had declared that it was set to commence the dislodgement of illegal slabs, as well as the monitoring of all veterinary premises across the State, from Tuesday, September 1, 2020, to further sanitize the red meat value chain and improve the quality and wholesomeness of the meat consumed by the people.

 

Following the dislodgement of the Igbeyinadun abattoir and seizure of the slaughtered animals, a donation of the spoils has been immediately made to the Tunji Adebayo Foundation and Orphanage, Iju, Fagba."

 A statement from the Lagos State Acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya on the commission's Twitter page reads: "Sequel to the dislodgement of the illegal slaughter slab named Igbeyinadun Abattoir at Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area, the meat therein confiscated was subsequently donated today to the Tunji Adebayo Foundation and Orphanage, Iju, Fagba."
