JUST IN: Fire guts electricity Powerline at Iyana Odo, razes bridge.

The fire is as a result of the vandalization of the NNPC pipeline at Baruwa, Ipaja on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

AT the early hours of Friday, December 24, 2021, there was a report of the collapse of some parts of the high tension electricity power lines  at Iyana Odo, Igando-Isheri express road due to an explosion caused by vandalism  of the NNPC pipeline at Baruwa, Ipaja on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

According to information gathered by AlimoshoToday, the residents of the area claimed that the oil spill from the vandalised pipeline at Baruwa spilled down to Iyana- Odo which eventually caused an explosion that collapsed the high tension cables.

Security officers

As a result of the fire, the wooden bridge that links Iyana-Odo to Baruwa has been razed down and destroyed.

As at the time of filing this report, PHCN officers are at the scene of the explosion to raise the fallen cables in order to ensure safety of lives and properties, and also ease traffic flow in the area.

Members of security agencies and traffic officers are also working to control heavy traffic gridlock on the highway.

Meanwhile, the executive chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Bola Shobowale has also visited the part of the explosion site that falls under her jurisdiction for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage caused by the explosion.

Similarly, the executive chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu has also visited the part of the explosion that falls under the Egbe-Idimu LCDA to assess the level of damage to properties, caused by the fire.
