THE Management and members of staff of the Egbe-Idimu LCDA, under the authority of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, recently held a New Year prayer session at the council secretariat to appreciate God for the year 2022 and usher in the year 2023.

During the prayer event, KSO urged members of staff to intensify efforts at generating more revenue for the council in the New Year as all necessary pieces of machinery to enhance such would be put in place. The council Mayor, having appreciated God for sparing the lives of all the staff till the New Year, noted, with thanksgiving in his heart, that no death was recorded in the council in the year 2022, he, therefore, prayed for such amazing grace this new year.

Hon. Olowoopejo also seized the opportunity of the forum to canvass for the collection of PVCs, stating that anyone encountering difficulty in doing so should promptly report to his Personal Assistant so that necessary assistance would be rendered.

He then solicited their votes in the forthcoming election, urging them to vote for all the APC candidates starting from the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Consequently, KSO made promises that this year’s focus would be on more developmental projects and improved staff welfare, while also declaring that revenue generation should be more germane.

With praise and worship as an interlude, the interdenominational prayer session was held by the Christian clergy and Islamic Ulamas amongst the staff with Pastor Michael Adejuwon and Alhaji Kamaldeen Odofin taking the lead.

The council-manager, Barr. Ayoko Olugboyega Paul, earlier in his speech, disclosed that the interdenominational prayer was held for the entire staff to start the beginning of the year with prayers and commit the New Year unto God for more blessings, divine mercies, and protection.

While deeply expressing gratitude and thanks to God for the gift of life, he said; “I give glory and adoration to Almighty God for the lives of all staff. I must also thank the staff and, in fact, all the political office holders for their cooperation and support in the last year, hoping that the loyalty cum support enjoyed last year would be replicated."

He then admonished all staff to be diligent and punctual at their duty post in the New Year.
