IN a bid to showcase the level of construction work done on the Pipeline Road, Idimu, among other construction projects going on in the Egbe Idimu LCDA, the Executive Chairman of the council area, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo (KSO) and his team recently visited the ongoing construction of Pipeline Road.
The chairman, who narrated the history of the project, said the council had long placed a tender bid on the project in the Daily Independent Newspaper published on January 12, 2022, before finally moving to the site on October 7, 2022, which is a sequel to the approval from the State Governor.
While fielding questions from the press, he said he was impressed with the progress and quality of the job done by the contractor, stating that the road, when completed, would serve various purposes for the traders, residents, and motorists.
“More so, it would ameliorate the suffering in terms of mobility, most especially during the rainy season, and ease the traffic gridlock on the major roads being an alternative route to many road users,” he stated.
KSO also disclosed that he would move to Sikiru Giwa and Busura Roads as soon as the Pipeline road, Idimu is completed. The council Boss stated that there is a set target of six (6) months to complete the Sikiru Giwa & Busura roads.
He then implored traders and other road users to make judicious of the road, warning artisans like mechanics and vulcanizers not to use the road as their workshops for proper maintenance.
Meanwhile, Hon. Rabiu Kazeem, the Community Development Committee Chairman of the LCDA corroborated the statements of the Executive Chairman on the tender bid placed in the newspaper. According to him, the advert published on January 12, 2022, is a clear witness that the chairman is a man who lives up to his promises.
