A 16-year old boy (name withheld), who allegedly raped his neighbour’s five-year-old daughter, has been arrested by operatives of the Isheri-Oshun Police Station, Lagos State.
The boy lives with his parents at Jakoma Close, Ijegun, where the incident happened.
Reports have it that the teenager lured the girl to a corner behind their house with a promise that he was going to buy her biscuits.
The teenager allegedly stripped the girl, inserted his fingers into her private part before having carnal knowledge of her.
According to the police, neighbours described the boy as a bully and that he had been making sexual advances at other girls in the neighbourhood.
The police added that the suspect has been transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos through the aid of a Non-Governmental Organisation, Women’s Rights and Health Project.
A source at the police Gender Section said he would soon be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
