The drainage which had been neglected has caused an uncontrollable flood and wreaked heavy havoc on the indigenes.

The huge open and smelling gutter had been dug thirteen years ago and it gets wider, deadlier and unbearable, Prince Shakiru Akerele Yussuff, the Second Vice for the Community Development Area (CDA) of Idimu narrated.

The flood comes from multiple channels towards the Oba Palace Street and encroaches the Mojogun Compound, Oke-Idimu in Alimosho.

It comes with different rubbish which would have been dumped into it and throws smashes them to the doorsteps of residents and if the doors are open, into the houses.

According to another source, name undisclosed, the flood has killed school children as it swept them over, hitting their heads against the slab.

The flood destroys the bitumen on the road as it channels through different routes in the Mojogun Compound Oke-Idimu, to the Idimu Bus Stop, eroding the major road as the gutters are also blocked all the way from Isheri.

When interviewed by Alimosho Today, the Double Chief, Chief Alashe and Otunba of Sarumi, Idimu lamented the death of a schoolgirl, Halimat, who got killed by the flood on her way to school at Olorunfunmi junior grammar school, Idimu.

The Chief, lamenting the failure of elected leaders said: "Halima lived at Olugoke Palace Way and the landlord association of Olugoke Palace Way, Ariyo Street and Oladunmade Close have approached the Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA in Alimosho, Honourable Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, Honourable Taiwo, Councillor of Ward B, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, but nothing has been done.  

"Individuals always construct their own gutters in front of their houses", he proceeded. "The people we nominated and voted in political offices have failed us," he lamented.

"Including Yayi", that is, Senator Solomon Olamillekan Adeola, the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; they all have done nothing. "Yayi goes to his father's homeland in Ilaro to invest and has done nothing for us". The chief narrated.
