Alimosho lawmaker eulogises late Onisheri of Isheri-Olofin during plenary

Hon. Joseph extended his condolences to the royal family and the people of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom. He also requested other members of the house to rise and observe a minute silence in memory of the late king.

ALIMOSHO Lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency 02, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, recently paid tribute, during the house plenary, to the late Onisheri of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom, HRM Oba Abdul-Wahab Ayinde Balogun, who died on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. 

The lawmaker reiterated that Oba Abdul-Wahab Ayinde Balogun, who was once the Chairman, Alimosho Council of Obas, was a first-class Oba in Lagos State, having spent thirty-eight (38) years on the throne. He ascended the throne of his fathers in the year 1984.

While eulogizing the late king, Hon. Joseph said; “Late Kabiyesi joined his ancestors on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. His transition calls for sober reflection, because he was revered by his people, and admired throughout the State, for his grace, dignity, humility, and steadfast dedication to his Kingdom and people.

"His contributions towards drama, culture and community development would not only be missed by the people of the Kingdom but by the state and nation at large.

"The Late Oba Abdul-Wahab Ayinde Balogun will be fondly missed because he's a bridge-builder who cut across ethnic, religious, and cultural divide to promote peace and unity.

"His contributions to the peaceful coexistence and unity of indigenes and non-indigenes cannot be forgotten in a jiffy and in years to come."
