THE Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, September 16, 2021, approved the appointment of Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello as the 9th Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
This directive followed the recommendation of the Joint Committee of Council and Senate of LASU in accordance with the LASU Law, Cap 169 Vol 7, Laws of Lagos State.
On the 2nd of October 2007, Prof. Ibiyemi Bello became the First Professor of Physiology at the Lagos State University College of Medicine.
She is a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (mni); holds a Fellowship Award of the Physiological Society of Nigeria and was also appointed a Fellow of the Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation in the year 2019.
Before her appointment, she was the acting VC of the University since the tenure of the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, which ended January 11, 2021.
