Nigeria, Lagos record worst COVID-19 report since 2020

Lagos has experienced new explosion of COVID-19 cases few days to Christmas.

LAGOS recorded 1,552 new COVID-19 infection cases while Nigeria recorded 2,123 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

This is the highest ever daily infections report since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease in the country in February 2020.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control also announced four deaths due to COVID-19 complications. This takes the death toll from 2,985 to 2,989.

Lagos state has now detected a total of 85,962 COVID-19 cases.

Lagos contributed most of the cases with its 1,552 cases followed by FCT (197), Edo (155), Rivers (81), Delta (44), Plateau (33), Kwara (30), Kano (16), Enugu (12), Gombe (2), Bauchi (1). The country now has 227,378 confirmed cases with 211,761 discharged.
