LAGOS state government and Jobberman started a training for youths in employability soft skills on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, titled the Free Soft Skills Training and Job Interviews Initiative, held in Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The training programme was organised by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment in conjunction with Jobberman Nigeria. It is aimed at reducing the unemployment rate in the state.

Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Arobieke, said, “This programme is crucial as it will prepare our youth when evaluating organisations or institutions so as to identify recruiters’ requirements in relation to skills and attributes, knowing likely questions posed at interviews and learning good approaches in answering different types of interview questions.

“Collaborations like this are always welcome and encouraging to complement the efforts of the present administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his training of youths in employability soft skills, job interviews and addressing the challenges of unemployment in the state by ensuring that youths are engaged and are not left behind in the scheme of things.”

The commissioner expressed the government's hope and belief in the ability of the youth population to create or secure new occupation.
