Man arraigned in court for stealing in Egbeda

A 47-year-old man, Darlington John, appeared before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, for allegedly stealing a bread mixer machine worth #4 million in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of Alimosho.

According to media reports, Darlington was charged by the police with theft and an attempt to commit a felony and theft. When the charge was read to the defendant, he, however, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecution Counsel, S.A. Adegbesin, earlier informed the court that the defendant carried out the offence sometimes in 2018 at No. 90, Shasha Road, Egbeda. He also alleged that the defendant illegally took away a bread mixer worth #4million, which belongs to Global Concepts Limited.

He said the offence, was in contravention of the provisions of sections 309 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate, A.O. Akinde,  granted the defendant bail in the sum of #1 million and two sureties each in like sum.

She, however, adjourned the matter to November 22, 2022, for mention.
