SanyaOlu commends Buhari, Tinubu for declaring June 12 as Democracy Day

THE Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle SanyaOlu  Olowoopejo has commended the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari for their stride contribution to sustaining democracy and declaring June 12 as a general public holiday to honour Late Chief MKO Abiola. 

While commerating with Nigerians, SanyaOlu stated that the action of President Muhammadu Buhari, declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day and the conferment of posthumous award of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) on Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola was an indication that democracy is entrenched in the nation.

"The action has also corrected the wrong that has lingered on for over 28 years and we commend the National Leader of our great party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the key role he played to make this a reality; and an enormous thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) for apologising on behalf of the Federal Government to Nigerians for the injustice done to us and the acclaimed winner of June 12 presidential election.

"As we remember our national heroes today, let’s renew our pledge to always uphold our national unity so that we can live together in peace and harmony”,  he said.
