The event started with a walk from Moshalashi roundabout, down to Abesan Stadium in Jakande Estate. The independence celebration featured talent hunts, power bikers, pedigree dog walkers, cultural performances, drum acts, Deejays Association of Nigeria-Lagos Chapter and many more.
Talking about the event, Mr Carlo Babatunde Sonupe told AlimoshoToday: "Alimosho celebrates Nigeria at 60 with a wonderful parade, from Moshalashi roundabout to Abesan stadium. One of our deities, Sango, performed. The power bikes did a whole lot of stunts. Of course, our wonderful dogs in Alimosho were all here.

"There are still more performances here (at the stadium) with our deities, our dogs, models, drum acts of Alimosho and many performances will be coming on. As for Okun Alimosho, we are not waiting for the government to do anything for us. We are here to help the government develop this land and make Nigeria a better place, for those at home and abroad. We also want to help the government create revenue while trying to better our lives."

Speaking with AlimoshoToday on the celebration, the Convener, Mr Babatunde Oluwaseyi Adeola said: "We had a walk that comprised of Alimosho Bikers Association, The Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners, Photographers Association and the Association of Dog Lovers. We all came together to celebrate Nigeria @60 and more associations are still partnering with us.

"It is the start of a campaign called 'Responsibility Now'. We are raising a generation of youths who are ready to take responsibility for their environment. It's a spark in demonstrating our responsibility for our land. We will raise ambassadors that will manage people, talents and businesses.

"We are using this event to also launch the Alimosho Festival, starting from November 9 till December. We will end it with a 3-day Alimosho Trade Fair here at Abesan Stadium. 450 business vendors will come here together to celebrate a lot of things."

A partner, Pastor Kua from Alimosho Dog Lovers Club, an NGO, while speaking with AlimoshoToday observed:"The event was okay but it didn't go as planned. There were some hitches. We couldn't catch much fun as expected, but generally, it was okay 70 per cent.

Speaking on some of the setbacks encountered while putting up the show, Mr Carlo and Deejay Mondollar hinted that the curfew still in place affected some aspects of the plans. Also, the ban placed on rallies put a strain on some of the activities lined-up for the day.

Nevertheless, AlimoshoToday had a great day at the event with the fun-packed activities.
