THE Community Development Committee (CDC) in Alimosho Local Government held her monthly meeting today, Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo.

According to reports reaching AlimoshoToday, the first Vice-Chairman of the association, Chief Tajudeen Fasasi Jolaoso, representing the Chairman, welcomed all members to the meeting, adding that it is the only reliable means to carry members along in terms of the progress and developments in the association.

In his contribution, the Secretary of the association, Alhaji Hassan Akanni began by introducing the new Head of Department (HOD) Agriculture & Social Services, Mr Olawole Johnson. He also recognised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official from the Alimosho LGA office, Mr Bankole who came to enlighten the members on how to establish, correctly, the status of their voter's card.

The newly elected HOD Agriculture & Social Services appreciated the entire CDC for the warm welcome and for keeping the house intact. He, therefore, urged all members to continue to cooperate with the executives in order to move the association forward. As the head of the supervisory body of the association, he also promised to ensure adequate cooperation between the association and his office.

Mr Bankole, the INEC official, stated that the need to know the status of our voter's card is very important so that no one will be denied the opportunity to vote during elections. He added that about 25 persons in Alimosho Local Government have been trained on how to sort minor registration challenges. These persons have the capability to help solve problems bothering on the loss of cards, damaged cards as well as cases of relocation. "These activities are done online and as a result can be done without getting to the INEC office," he concluded.

In his additional remarks, Alhaji Hassan, after appreciating the members’ cooperation, announced the final burial arrangement for the departed Chairman, Chief Aluko. He said, though the burial activities will be held in his home town, one of the activities scheduled for Lagos will be held on April 30, 2022. He consequently encouraged members to save the date and endeavour to be in attendance as a sign of final respect to the departed Chairman.
