NIGERIA @62: Famuyiwa preaches for patriotic spirit, optimism

THE Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa has congratulated Nigerians and the Federal Government on the celebration of the country's 62 years Independence Day anniversary.

The council Mayor in his Independence Day message on Saturday, October 1, 2022, said; “My great people, today, we celebrate the 62nd Independence anniversary of our great nation, Nigeria. 

“We applaud our liberty as we remember not only the day our country got independence; we also remember the indomitable spirit of those who fought for this day to be made possible. 

“We are grateful to these heroes who made personal freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of movement, and freedom to pursue one's dreams in a free society a reality. 

“This anniversary offers us the opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and reaffirm our commitment to sustaining the legacy of our heroes past whose ultimate goal is to engender a culture of unity, prudence, diligence, honesty, sincerity, decency, transparency, selflessness and accountability in our polity.

“We are aware that single-minded, people-focused, results-oriented, creative, sincere and courageous leadership is critical. Thus, we urge our leaders not to rest on their oars in making sure that the nation is built on a universal claim to human dignity, on the proposition that every man, woman and child has a right to a future of freedom that keeps thriving and excelling. 

“To the well-meaning citizens of our great country, let us with patriotic spirit, face the future with optimism for the challenges of this time will redound to glorious boundless opportunities and exciting possibilities for us and our nation.

“On this 62nd anniversary of our nation’s independence, let us all, dear countrymen and women renew our faith in Nigeria and recommit to the transformation of our Fatherland.

“I want to sincerely assure you that as the Chairman of this great LCDA, I will continue to work tirelessly to promote, protect, and preserve what really matters, a united, peaceful, prosperous, and secure community, where all, irrespective of background, ethnic, religion and other differences, can aspire to succeed.
