Court orders dethronement of Baale of Oke-Odo

A Lagos High Court presided over by Justice O.A. Akinlade has ordered the removal of Chief Saliu Babatunde Dada as Baale of Oke-Odo in the Agbado Oke -Odo Local Council Development Area of Alimosho Local Government.

According to media reports, Justice Akinlade held that Dada, who was installed as the traditional ruler of the community 13 years ago, was not a member of the ruling house legally designated to fill the vacant throne of the town.

The lawsuit challenging Dada’s appointment was jointly filed by Chief Saminu Akanni Agbakanmi on behalf of the Ilediju Ruling House and the family’s nominee for the stool, Chief Wahab Sunmonu Giwa, against Dada(7th defendant) and six others. The claimants argued that there were irregularities in the selection and appointment of Dada as Baale of the community.
