Agbado/Oke-Odo CAN holds first prayer session for 2021

THE Christian Association of Nigeria, Agbado/Oke-Odo Chapter, recently held its first prayer session in the Year 2021 at the Council Secretariat.

The Prayer Session, which was the first meeting held after the Association's departure on December 17, 2020, was organised in sessions and began with prayer for Nigeria, naional leaders and the economy by Pastor Olojede. Prayers were also held for the eradication of the COVID-19 scourge from the LCDA, State, Nation, and the world at large. 

The Acting Council Manager, Mrs Mojisola Akinola urged everyone to be faithful with God and not deviate from Him. “God is a God of resurrection and He will resurrect everyone in this new year," she prayed. 

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA branch, Bishop Dr Owoeye.JP, in his brief message  urgedthe congregation to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols, adding that the plague is everywhere and everyone present at the prayer session should be good ambassadors of their churches by preaching to their members to strictly adhere to government guidelines on COVID-19. 

The Chief Imam, Council of League of Imams, Alhaji Raji, also prayed for the LCDA and the congregation. He thereafter admonished the congregation to live in harmony because the two religions signify unity.

The Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Hon. David Famuyiwa, in his concluding remarks thanked the Almighty for preserving everyone’s lives, while considering the different national issues that occurred in the previous year- the COVID-19 pandemic, the #EndSARS protest, the loss of loved ones and other different individual issues. He further charged the association not to seize from praying for the LCDA.

In attendance with strict adherence to social distancing guidelines, was the LCDA Vice-Chairman, Chief  Akinwumi Odeyemi, Leader of the House, Hon. Kehinde Shobayo,  Secretary to the Local Govt, Hon. Taiwo Afeez Olasunkanmi, the Supervisor for Agriculture, Rural and Social Service, Dcn Abiola Koyi (JP), and the Party Chairman, Alhaji Ganiu Onatoye amongst others.
