THE Executive Chairman of the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Bola Shobowale has felicitated the Muslim faithful in the council area as they celebrate the year 2023 Eid-al-Adha festival.
Her goodwill message to the Muslim brethren on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, read: “One of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar is Eid-al-Adha, which is observed by millions of Muslims around the world.
“The celebration of Eid-al-Adha marks the end of the hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca and its neighbouring sites. Selected Muslims from throughout the world come to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to perform the hajj every year during the last month of the Islamic calendar, known as Dhul Hijjah.
“I, therefore, use this medium to felicitate all Muslim faithful in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA and to admonish them to embrace all the holy teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) as entrenched in the holy book - Quran, and practically apply it in their daily dealings with others.
“The concept of being our brother’s keeper means that we make those around us happy and we should use this period of Eid-Al-Adha to reach out to the less privileged around us and make them happy.
“I also urge Muslims to pray for the nation's leaders for us to remain focused in the discharge of our duties for the overall interest of Nigerians. Most importantly, I call for religious tolerance to foster peaceful co-existence, unity, and a prosperous Nigeria.
“May the sacrifice of Eid-Al-Adha strengthen your faith in Allah and light up your world with uncountable blessings.
“Eid Mubarak!”
