Ayobo-Ipaja trains 400 indigents under Speed Up Lagos scheme

THE Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, under the leadership of Hon. Bola Shobowale, has trained and graduated about 400 indigent residents of the council in various vocational skills under the Speed Up Lagos initiative.

The two-week intensive empowerment programme (Speed up Lagos) is a Lagos State Government initiative, which the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA had keyed in and embraced to alleviate poverty among the youth.6502

Shobowale, while speaking during the graduation ceremony, charged the graduating trainees on the power of acquiring entrepreneur skills and urged them to keep aspiring higher and not to waste the budding talent inherent in their personality.

She further encouraged the graduates never to be a subject of stagnation rather, they should explore and exploit a wealth of knowledge through the deployment of modern technology and innovation that will stand them out among others.6503

The Director of Speed up Lagos, Princess Gbemisola Ajetumobi, in her remarks, commended Shobowale for her foresight as a supportive leader who has the wellbeing of the youth at heart, saying she is impressed at the turnout of the people in the community at this year’s training. 

She then presented an award to the Executive Chairman for her good work.

The occasion was celebrated in a grand style with the presentation of awards to deserving graduates who have distinguished themselves in various learning skills. 

Dignitaries present at the occasion were the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Executive members Legislative, APC Party chairman, other party faithful, and management staff, among others.
