Tyla credits Tems for opening doors of global recognition

Tyla, who won the Grammy Awards for Best African Music Performance through her hit song “Water” credited Tems for paving the way to global recognition thereby giving female artists a platform to showcase their arts.

GRAMMY-winning South African artist, Tyla has recognised Nigerian artist, Tems as the person who opened the door for global recognition for African female artists.

Tyla, who won the Grammy Awards for Best African Music Performance through her hit song “Water” credited Tems for paving the way to global recognition thereby giving female artists a platform to showcase their arts.

Tyla, speaking in a recent interview with Kiss Fresh, UK said, “Working with Tems is amazing. She is so talented. She is literally a force. I’m so honoured to have worked with her. She has opened so many doors for us.

“We made such a beautiful song with such a beautiful message. It is a song for the girls and it is made by the girls.”

Tems was featured on Tyla's debut eponymous album “TYLA,” which was released earlier this month. Tems showed her vocal prowess on the song “No 1” of the album.
